"I can avoid the heat and save money by staying indoors."
"I prefer relaxing at a hotel to get rid of stress from my work and studies."
The word ‘vacation’ makes hearts flutter and helps us get through those tiresome and stressful days at work.
But what if you want to go on a summer vacation, without the tiresome process of traveling?
According to a study of one thousand people by Korean online research institute Macromil Embrain 55% said that travelling is not necessary for a summer vacation.
7 out of 10 people also said that they preferred a quiet and relaxing vacation a so-called ‘staycation.'
‘Staycation’ combines the words ‘stay’ and ‘vacation.’
Today, this type of holiday is highly preferred, because it doesn't require the stress of packing, long drives, or waits at the airport.
And local hotels are proving to be the most preferred destinations as they offer extra benefits, such as the chance to save big on expensive overseas travel costs.

The best vacation does not always require new and exciting adventures.
Rather, in these stressful times, the best vacation can be just doing nothing.
It’s easy to spot visitors lying down by the swimming pool, dipping themselves in the cool water, and enjoying a refreshing drink or two.
There is nothing more exhilarating when it comes to escaping the summer heat.
Hotels offer visitors with a wide selection of packages in the summer such as breakfast buffets, all-you-can-drink bars, and cultural experiences.
Even though the hotel might be close to home, it can feel like a trip away.
"Visitors' needs are becoming more diverse and segmented. We try to satisfy separate needs of families, couples, and other visitor groups with different hotel packages."
Another type of staycation is reading in a coffee shop not just plain old books, but comic books.
Not only do comic book cafes offer a wide selection of comics, but they’re well-furnished, comfortable, and quiet.
Some even offer televisions, shower booths, laundry rooms, and properly cooked meals to give customers a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
"We all like comic books so we're having fun reading and talking to each other at the cafe."
Of course, a classic staycation can also involve staying at home.
Staycation lovers sometimes choose to cook, watch movies, and catch up with some sleep at their most comfortable shelters.
Whether it's home or a local spot, people can always find a way to spend their summer vacations in Seoul.

In a city the size of Seoul, you might be surprised by the range of getaway options available without having to venture that far from home.
Because of this and other factors, the 'staycation’ trend probably isn't going anywhere soon.
